using this website, you agree to each of the terms and conditions set forth and/or

In order to participate in the Sony Trade-in program, you
must purchase or lease a new Sony VAIO® Notebook or VAIO® All-in-One PC. To receive
your redemption check, you must send your Acceptance Notification Email and proof
of purchase receipt to:

In addition, you must return the traded product within 30
days of completing your trade online. After you have accepted these terms and conditions,
you will be presented a "shipping instructions" page. This page will provide the
instructions you will follow to return your traded-in product. Within one business
day of completing your trade, an email with the subject line "Sony Trade-in shipping
instructions" will be emailed to the address you provided while registering. The
'Sony Trade-in shipping instructions email' will provide the steps for retrieving
your shipping label or shipping placard. The 'Sony Trade-in shipping instructions
email' will contain embedded links, simply click on the link and your prepaid, pre-addressed
shipping label or shipping placard will appear. A Microsoft window will direct you
on how to print out your label or placard. Print two copies, and attach one to the
shipment of your trade-in product and retain the second copy for tracking purposes.
If you are trading multiple items, a link for each item will appear in the email.
The trade-in product must be shipped by the "Ship Date" noted on the label.

Sony Trade-in is a service provided to Sony customers by
Market Velocity, Inc., an independent third party. Sony is not involved in the transaction
between Market Velocity, Inc. and Sony customers. Any and all transactions conducted
on this site are solely the responsibility of Market Velocity, Inc. and such visitors.
By clicking on the "Accept" button below, you hereby release Sony and its respective
directors, employees, and agents from any disputes, claims, demands, and/or damages
(actual or consequential) of every kind, whether known or unknown, arising out of,
or relating to, your use of Market Velocity, Inc.'s services including, without
limitation, uncompleted or completed transactions and any claims or disputes between
you and Market Velocity, Inc.
The following terms and conditions apply to your use of

terms on this site. Terms are effective immediately upon posting. These terms and
conditions may not be otherwise amended except for a special circumstance which

As the Sony Trade-in program states, Sony will send you
a check for your product based on the trade value provided. In order to receive
your redemption check, Sony must first receive your proof of purchase receipt, Acceptance
Notification Email, and Sony must receive your traded product.

You agree to remove all data from your current product before shipping it. See "How do I remove data from my system" in our FAQ’s if you need assistance (sony.tradeups.com). By sending Sony your product, you agree to release them from any claim as to the product, the data stored in such product, or any information on any media used in conjunction with the product and which you send to Sony, or for such data's security, integrity, confidentiality, disclosure or use. Sony will not be responsible for securing, protecting, keeping secret or otherwise managing any form of data or information that is stored on or otherwise contained in any product that you send to Sony (including any computer hard drive, ROM, CD-ROM, disk or other storage media of any form). You bear sole responsibility for removing or securing such data, or for transferring it to a medium under your continuing control.

When packaging your device, be sure to include your operation system software on CD or diskette, the Certificate of Authenticity, end-user license agreement and manuals.
If your system was shipped with a restore CD, each of the above items will be on the restore CD, and not packaged separately.
If you have a Microsoft operating system, please erase the operating system software from your device.
Please ensure you include any documentation and accessories that originally was shipped with your device, these items could include: warranty cards, keyboard, mouse and connection cables.
Failure to include these items will impact the value of your trade. If you do not have these items, please contact sonycustomerservice@marketvelocity.com for further assistance.

Once you send Sony your product, Sony cannot and does not guarantee that it will be able to honor any request for return of the product and/or any data or information contained in said product.

You must own the right, title, and interest in any and all items you seek to sell through the Sony Trade-in program. Such items, or the sale and shipment of such items, must not violate any applicable laws, statutes, ordinances, or regulations including export laws. You are responsible for complying with any and all such laws. Any items you seek to sell through the site using Sony's services: (1) shall not infringe on third party intellectual property rights (including copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets or other proprietary rights), (2) shall not be counterfeit, stolen, or fraudulent.

To receive your redemption check, you must accurately state your current product's condition. Sony will perform an inspection upon receipt of your product. If the product's condition differs materially from that which you described, Sony reserves the right to reprice your transaction quote using the same condition parameters originally available to you. You agree to state product conditions accurately and to the best of your ability based on the guidelines posted on this site. Packing and shipping recommendations should be followed in order to avoid possible damage or loss. You are responsible for any damages that may occur to your product while in transit if you do not follow packing and shipping recommendations. If your current product(s) were received and through the inspection process, it was determined that the product condition was misrepresented by you, and there is no trade value, Sony reserves the right to charge you a recycling fee for the disposition of this product. If the product can be returned to you, you will be responsible for any and all associated shipping costs. "Excellent" condition means that the product is in excellent working condition and needs no refurbishment. "Good" condition means that the body of this product has only minor blemishes (ie., smudges, ink marks, dents, or scratches) and the product has no technical problems (ie., makes noises, runs slowly, missing pieces, etc.). "Poor" condition means that the product has no major technical problems, it does turn on, and is in working condition and the product does have cosmetic defects.

Once you ship your current product, Sony will be solely responsible for ensuring that this product is re-distributed and/or recycled in accordance with applicable Environmental Protection Agency regulations.

MVI makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of all information that you receive in relation to your traded product. In the event of typographical errors, technical inaccuracies, or product pricing errors or omissions, Sony reserves the right to correct the error within seven calendar days of the trade. If Sony corrects the error, Sony will provide you with the following options: (1) to proceed with the transaction based on the corrected information, or (2) to cancel your transaction, in which case we will promptly send your product back whenever possible or replace it with like product (i.e. similar make, model).
THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS ARE GOVERNED BY AND CONSTRUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH GEORGIA LAW, AND NO CONFLICT OF LAWS OR PROVISIONS OF ANY JURISDICTION WILL APPLY TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
